Atalie Sherman: making the AP test look easy
Atalie Sherman is a junior at Owasso High School who overcame many challenges during the academic year and scored a five on the AP European test. Moreover, Sherman discovered in August that she had won the Indigenous Recognition Award for her scores.

Owasso Football: only the beginning
Owasso’s Varsity Football team hasn’t exactly had the most epic start to their 2022-23 season. With quite a few seniors sitting out due to injuries, the season had a rough start by playing the highest-ranked team in the state, Bixby. Unexpectedly, another senior and major leader on the team, Cole Adams, returned to the field after halftime, not suited up, apparently injured.

Owasso, Oklahoma has over 40,000 citizens, and it is rapidly growing with more people, new ideas and different cultures meeting together. With all of its progress, one wonders, “Was Owasso always like this?”

Mrs. Abuelaileh is an Intermediate Algebra and Algebra I teacher who displays kindness and compassion for all of those around her. She comes back this school year for her 3rd year of teaching but her 12th year at Owasso.

Alabaster daydreams: caving with Mrs. Chatwin

The class enjoyed camping overnight in a cave, exploring three other caves, hiking, gorgeous photo-ops and much more as they ventured across the Northwestern sector of the state.

Owasso student art showcased at Philbrook Museum of Art
Art students from Owasso High School recently submitted their work to the Philbrook museum, and many pieces are featured in the museum’s BIG Show exhibition. The installation acts as a means to inspire young artists and encourage further creativity.

NNA wins Owasso Dodgeball Tournament, emerge world champions
On April 20, war broke out in the east gym. Dodgeballs soared through the air, indiscriminately pelting teams vying for the ultimate victory. Just one team would emerge as champions: Team ‘NNA.’ They celebrated their win with a victory lap, proudly displaying their massive trophy as they circled the gym floor.

Owasso debaters to compete at NSDA National Tournament
Recently, Kendall Welborn and Will Ehrhart qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association championships following the 2022 season. They will compete as a team in Public Forum, a debate event based around hard facts and analysis.
