As the year progresses we make the slow trek into the month of February, nationally recognized as Black History Month. A month dedicated to admiring Black achievements and creativity, it’s purpose is to remind a once neglective country that Black culture runs deep.

The Owasso High School Band holds high standards for their students as they strive to keep a 40-year old tradition. Every year the Owasso High School Band has the most students qualify for the All-State band out of any school in Oklahoma. 

Branded “Kaminabae,” Amina began the business during the summer of 2020. It began with lip gloss, and has expanded into a trendy jewelry and cosmetics store.

All credits go to Colt Brandow, a lover of all things automotive, Tulsa Tech Student and graduate of Owasso High School. The specs of his project are intense, including a curb weight under 2,600 lb. and over 700 horsepower from a tuned 1GZ-FE V12 engine.

Crushing the competition, the Owasso Theatre Troupe 4722 put on a brilliant performance at Union High School on Saturday, April 17. Performing the play entitled “The 39 Steps,” this small but mighty group put on the performance of a lifetime! 

The saying ¨one man's trash is another man's treasure¨ only holds true to the hobby of thrifting. While some people find it gross or cheap to use other peoples' discarded clothes, I think it's nothing short of smart to stop by your local thrift store and see what kind of unique pieces you can come by.

2020 was a year unlike any other that led to unique experiences for every person. For me, 2020 was the year of change and it seemed as though nothing in my life was how it used to be.

Next time you pass by an art room with drawings, paintings or even sculptures out, think about what the artist might have been thinking while creating it. It will help you find a newly found appreciation for all art and the artist.

In these tough times of a spreading pandemic, the arts are being diminished, yet the Owasso Community Theatre Company has turned this dark times and turned it into a light comedy through “Back to the 80’s”

With all the unpredictable changes this year, the Owasso band has had to be quick on their toes.

Originally set to happen last year, Owasso’s theater troop is currently preparing for Clue.

Students across Owasso have had the opportunity to compete in a district-wide art contest that would prove to have more benefits than just prizes.

On January 1, 2020, Owasso High School band students performed in the Rose Parade for the 6th time. With a completely new set of students, this accomplishment is not only impressive, but extraordinary; It was no small task.

I had the privilege and honor to get to interview two of nine of our Owasso High School exchange student this year.

On the afternoon of September 19th, the Art Club held its first meeting of the school year.
