Social media has become a great resource for high school clubs and organizations to spread information. The Owasso High School's Unified Club began using TikTok at the start of the 22-23 school year. Their account has recently gone viral, and they have a growing following with over  55,000 followers. 

At long last, the town of Owasso, Oklahoma, has blossomed enough to expand its variety of businesses to a large extent, and locals rejoice at the opening of the city’s very first candy store, Candy Destination. Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this new small business has Owasso students on a sugar high. 

Battle for the Buckle is Owasso FFA’s very own showmanship contest, specifically designed by their teachers to help improve the student’s skills in the livestock ring. Owasso High School’s FFA chapter is a community-driven organization that utilizes important leadership skills within a variety of agricultural classes.

You may have seen some pretty sick rides driving around Owasso, and maybe you’ve seen some car shows here too. It’s hard to spot them, but you’ll know when you see a cool car based on its engine noise or even paint scheme. There’s a whole community that revolves around, you guessed it, cars!

Dena Yang looks back as a festival dancer. She, along with our other OHS student Saint Sophie Vang, rehearsed for months and even baked to earn enough funds in order to take part in the Hmong New Year Festival.

How easy is it to tell what’s real and what’s fake? What is science and what is pseudoscience? These are the questions that Mrs. Chatwin wants her students to think about with her new, fascinating and frankly off-putting classroom decoration.

Finals are quite possibly the most nerve-wracking part of the school year. Many high schools give them at the end of the semester to test students' retention of the topics taught to them throughout the year. For many students, this can make or break their grade. They must work to reach into the back of their brain and grab knowledge they have not gone over in months.

When it comes to Owasso High School's immense pride in their teachers and faculty, Mr.Shane Ridenour and Mrs.Stephani Barger are some of the best examples. The title of “Teacher of the Year” is something that most teachers strive for at some point in their careers; this 2022-2023 school year, that dream was accomplished by Ridenour and Barger.

With the 2022 holiday season approaching, it is time to pull out those recipe books for tasty dishes and desserts to share with friends and family. This year, I asked a few OHS teachers to share their favorite holiday treat recipes.

The Owasso Rams Football season is officially over after a heartbreaking loss against Bixby in the State Championship. They had a rough start to the season, but the team quickly turned it around and eventually made it to the State Championship, where they took home second place.

With this year coming to a close, people in Owasso, the US and all over the world are celebrating the holidays. You can see people decorating for Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa along with other cultural winter holidays. Here at our very own Owasso High School, the French Club has also decided to take part in the festivities.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, right after the Owasso Christmas parade, the high school hosted Rambo’s Holiday Festival. The community gathered to take festive pictures with Rambo, make holiday crafts and eat snacks. Held in the Ram Cafe, it was an especially pleasant morning for the Owasso community.

Owasso High School has improved over many years, and with the addition of a new girls' wrestling team, the school continues to grow. Establishing an all-girls team brought many new opportunities to the girls who joined.

Yes, OHS has an Art Club, and it’s been around for years! The club, which is mostly student-led, holds meetings on Tuesdays every other week in Mrs. Richardson's room on West Campus. It’s a small club with only a few recurring members, but new students are slowly starting to join.

On Aug. 28, 2020, esteemed actor Chadwick Boseman passed away due to complications with cancer. He fought this battle while filming his first appearance as Black Panther and the solo “Black Panther” movie. Months after his passing, fans wondered how the franchise would continue without Boseman reprising his role as T’ Challa. The answer to this question can be found in the new movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

Most people associate this cold Christmas season with warm, comforting drinks such as tea and hot chocolate. But, as good as these may be, they all share one common problem in most homes: they’re way too basic. No one should have to buy Swiss Miss when hot chocolate is this easy.
