Rambo’s Holiday Festival

By Olivia Voth

On Saturday, Dec. 10, right after the Owasso Christmas parade, the high school hosted Rambo’s Holiday Festival. The community gathered to take festive pictures with Rambo, make holiday crafts and eat snacks. Held in the Ram Cafe, it was an especially pleasant morning for the Owasso community.

The 2023 Senior Board officers constructed this event to raise funds for graduation, Grad Bash and other events for the senior class. Tickets purchased for photos, snacks and crafts all go toward the funds. The team worked closely with the administration and the rest of the board to create this event for the benefit of Owasso citizens.

For months on end, members of Senior Board, NHS and Student Council worked together to build decorations, make signs and set up tables for the entire event. With a fully decorated Christmas tree, a festive balloon arch, hand-painted posters and signs and strings of lights twinkling all around the Ram Cafe, guests could really feel the holiday spirit in the general atmosphere.

The attendees enjoyed playing with Frosty the Snowman and playing games together. The children present were pleasantly surprised when Queen Elsa of the Enchanted Forest of Arendelle showed up halfway through the event. There was a station for writing letters to Santa Claus, coloring sheets, a photography station and plenty of sweet treats available to guests. Some school board members were in attendance, as well as high school principal Tiffani Cooper. The children were awestruck by the fun and festive decorum.

“It was great, all the little baby nuggets looked like they had so much fun,” remarked junior Ava Burnett, “Elsa even gave me her autograph on my coloring sheet.”

The hard work paid off for the members of the Senior Board as they were able to raise money for their class events while bringing holiday cheer to the community of Owasso.
