“Wordle,” an online word game, seems to be everywhere this year. Tik-Tok and Instagram accounts made specifically for the game “Wordle” have become unusually popular.

February is the month that America celebrates the deep, rich history of Black culture. In relation, one of the most significant events that happened in the Tulsa area in regards to Black history was the Tulsa Race Massacre that occurred in 1920. This was an awful event that took place about a century ago, but it is now finally being unveiled for everyone to learn from.

Sydney, Seth and their dad started with five customers in Owasso, first driving around a pickup truck and picking up recycling curbside. Later, they purchased a new work truck and trailer, acquiring new customers for both their convenience and their mission: helping to conserve natural resources.

All-State is an opportunity where all the jazz choirs in the state prepare for an audition, then the best of the best get to advance and perform.

Every day, the counselors at Owasso High School are positively influencing the students—even if they do not know it. Behind the scenes in the counselor's office, they are constantly helping students succeed in high school so they can succeed later on in life. Owasso High School is grateful to have a group of counselors who care so much about their students.

As high schoolers consider college, trade schools, medical school etc., they often feel a tremendous amount of pressure as they prepare for a successful future. Navigating through high school with this in mind, I asked three Owasso Professionals how they came to success and what they recommend high schoolers do to be proactive towards their future profession.

Each teacher has their own personality, and they project that into their rooms. Teachers try to create an environment where students feel welcome.

While some days at Owasso High School are wild enough in their own way, some teachers long for a companion to keep them company constantly throughout the day despite the many students switching from class to class.

Owasso’s famous event has arrived: the district has announced the 2022 bond resolutions. Once the school board approves the proposals, they will be sent to the election board for inclusion on an upcoming ballot.

Coach Kannett, coach of the Owasso volleyball team, accomplished a great achievement this year by earning the Region 7 Volleyball Coach of the Year.

The Rams are off to a solid start this season with an overall record of 4-2 and some of it can be attributed to Caden Fry’s recent performances.

Although most Disney films are light-hearted and don’t tackle serious talking points, “Encanto” manages to balance the traditional Disney feeling with a more mature message about family expectations. 

With the holiday season right around the corner, I decided to make a poll on what the absolute worst Christmas movie is according to OHS students. After asking around in class and putting a couple of polls on social media, the results are in with number one being the most hated Christmas movie.

Since the fall sports just finished their final competitions, student athletes are now finding new paths for their futures. For many of them, this season was their first time lacing up new cleats, spikes and shoes.

This pent up excitement for a new title built a lot of hype around the two triple A titles set to release around the holidays: “Battlefield 2042” and “Halo Infinite.” But the question remains, which game will win over the hearts of gamers?

The senior girls went to audition for the All-State competitive team and then went straight to performing at the freezing-cold playoff game in Broken Arrow. After which, they were also dubbed Class Champions at their recent Regionals competition!

The Owasso Swim team had a great start to the season after the team placed second overall at its last meet. This was the team’s third meet of the season and this meet added on to the other two great performances.
