Owasso High School competed in the One-Act competition this Saturday. As someone who directly participated, I can confidently say it was a lot of fun-- 15 hours of it, to be specific!

Owasso left OHS at 7am and did not come back until 11:30pm. The show started right at 8:00am. Broken Arrow started off the competition with their one act play, “Mirrors,” which was then followed by Bixby’s “Tragedy of Tragedies.” Mustang performed “And The Rain Came to Mayfield,” when it was finally Owasso’s time to shine.

Our show was “Declaration,” a play about a school shooting taking place at Owasso High School. After the performance, there was finally a moment of recuperation; lunch.

Once lunch was over, the show picked back up with Union performing their original piece, “Bucket List”. Muskogee followed through “Violet Sharp” and South-more with “The 11th”. Deer Creek brought the competition to a close with “Sunspot”.

After a couple hours of waiting for the judges to deliberate, they finally started the awards ceremony at 10:30pm. Owasso was awarded “Best Director” and “Best company”, with three students getting separate awards. We received a score of one-- the best score you can get.

It’s safe to say that Owasso High School left very happy that day.
