With the millions of different fast food places around Owasso, it can take time to find a restaurant with personality. Oklahomies Mobile Gastronomy is just that, with one man turning his culinary vision into a reality, quitting his desk job to pursue his food truck dream.

Brandon Hines, the owner of the “OMG” lounge and Oklahomies, did what many people wish they had the guts to do: he chose to quit his day job, put in the effort and take the risk to pursue his dream of opening a food truck. Working over 80 hours a week just to get his feet off the ground with the help of his wife, family and friends, Oklahomies was born. This underground joint that has spread almost completely by word of mouth has become a staple in casual Owasso dining. This burger truck that sits on the corner of Garnett Road has earned almost a perfect five stars with hundreds of reviews online.

"If you aren't willing to work all day, every day to get your business off the ground, then it won't succeed," explains Hines.

Being able to work for yourself is a dream millions of people have, a challenging yet rewarding adventure that most never achieve. Running his business the way he envisions, without worrying about money or corporate interests, is what has made Oklahomies so popular to locals and tourists alike. The unique and friendly atmosphere that's constantly talked about online goes to show how refreshing a place like this can be compared to your local McDonalds (with arguably way better food, too).

“Every mistake was an opportunity to learn. I wouldn't change anything,” shares Hines, advising anyone who wishes to put in the work and turn their dreams into a reality.

The dream one man decided to chase is paying off and turning into an Owasso classic. Oklahomies has some of the best food, staff and a fun environment you will not find anywhere else. If you're ever looking for somewhere to grab a bite with some friends, or are just looking to meet some new people, Oklahomies is the place for you.
