Owasso’s Gathering on Main

By: Kai Neuberger

Once again, the highly anticipated Gathering On Main has approached our doorsteps; this wondrous event is a fantastic way to get our community together on the first Thursday of October. You’ll never guess where it’s located: Owasso’s very own Main Street!

Free to attend with many booths and food trucks (although you still have to pay for food), it’s a fun event for all ages! The event usually runs from 6pm-9pm with a variety of activities to enjoy, including vendor games, petting zoos, drawings, and even live music on two different stages!

This month, we had our final gathering of the year with some great jazz musicians, making the night shine. Several of the city's favorite places even had booths set up, like Smoke and Mad Eats. Per usual, our classic food trucks appeared for the night and many people were seen walking with the Pineapple Dole Whips. Businesses around the area held special hours for the event, such as Giant Subs which stayed open until 7pm that night.

As parents stood by chatting, their children could be seen playing in the bounce houses lining part of the street. Another great thing was being able to see the new things coming to our city, such as the Red Bud District and the upcoming microbrewery for adults.

If you love the community, make your way out to the next Gathering On Main. Bring your friends, family or even your dogs! There’s something for everyone at The Gathering on Main.
