Who Has the Best Wings In Owasso?

Chicken wings, a staple food in the American diet. This tasty snack is often consumed on game day, at parties or just with friends, but with this great treat comes many debatable questions like, “What flavor is the best?” or “Where can I find the best wings?” I have graciously volunteered to make an attempt at answering these questions, or at least making it easier for others to decide. I have visited the three biggest chicken wing restaurants in Owasso with help from Jackson Nester and Ian Busking to determine what flavors are the best to order and which wing restaurant is worthy of the title, “Best Wings in Owasso.”

First stop on the wing tour of Owasso, Buffalo Wild Wings. The recently constructed restaurant has quickly become a favorite among locals. The place has a great atmosphere and it’s almost impossible to get bored sitting inside. We went with Honey BBQ and  “Blazin” sauces. Honey BBQ is a classic and the sauce didn't disappoint. The “Blazin” took quite a toll on our taste buds, yet this flavor would be a great choice for any that enjoy spicier wings.

The next restaurant we tested was a local favorite, Wings To Go. This long-standing joint has been serving Owasso for years. They are known for their secret menu item, the “Kobe.” The item consists of a layer of fries topped with chicken, ranch and a sauce of your choice. We selected this as the meal for the review. The “Kobe” turned out to be an excellent choice because the giant plate came out hot and all the toppings came together nicely. Overall, Wings to Go was a great stop on our tour.

The final location we visited is also the newest, Wingstop. The chain opened up their Owasso location in 2020 in the shopping center across from the high school. The tiny shop doesn't have much to look at, but the food speaks for itself. The seating inside is off limits, so we had to find another place to eat. Ian, Jackson and I decided to sample the lemon pepper, the mango habanero and the atomic flavors. The lemon pepper was an instant and unanimous success for us. The mango habanero had a good flavor but a spicy aftertaste, and we learned that the atomic flavor is not for the faint of heart. The real winner of this restaurant was the fries, they had a garlicky and sweet seasoning that made them a stand-out against the other locations.

The tour had to come to a close, and with that we needed to make our final decisions. In conclusion, we decided unanimously that Wingstop was the best overall restaurant for chicken wings in Owasso. The flavors were great and the fries upstaged the sides from the other restaurants. While the seating is very restricted in the store, the quality of the food makes up for any inconvenience. In addition, the “Kobe” at Wings To Go deserves an honorable mention for its creativeness and overall taste. Ian, Jackson and I had a great time traveling around Owasso to find the best wings and had many funny moments along the way. Our final recommendation is Wingstop for the great flavor and sides, but I would encourage others to go with friends and find the best for themselves.
