Coming up in Owasso: new businesses to look forward to in late 2022-2023

By Alivia Williams

The Owasso area is constantly flourishing with new additions to the community, and as the end of 2022 is approaching, there are new projects to anticipate. From new food stops to family attractions, Owasso is meeting the growing demand.

The upcoming Chipotle location in Owasso will be placed between 96th street and Garnett. Chipotle is an American chain that serves Mexican cuisine, including bowls, burritos and tacos. They are currently hiring to build a staff for their Owasso location. The restaurant is currently under construction and is expected to be finished by the end of 2022.

Sugar Llamas

Sugar Llamas brings an interesting twist to breakfast (or dessert time), as they offer mini donuts of various creative flavors, along with signature coffees. Their menu doesn’t stop at just donuts and coffee. In fact, they also sell ice cream and boba drinks. Sugar Llamas has a promotion of one free hot mini donut with the purchase of a coffee, a great reason to stop by! They’re currently looking for crew members at the upcoming location. Check out their Owasso Instagram page, @sugarllamasowasso, if you’re interested in more hiring details. This quirky donut shop will be placed in Waterford Plaza next to Ah-Sigh-ee and Wings to Go. They are set to open later this fall.

Airtopia Adventure Park is located on 86th street in Owasso. It’s a trampoline park along with other amusing attractions that can entertain the whole family. Airtopia is set up in a similar fashion to Skyzone or Airport, but it differs by providing other fun games and activities that require physical effort. It’s an entertaining option for a weekend outing that also keeps the kids active.

Andy’s Frozen Custard is a chain of ice cream shops located throughout the Midwest and the South. They offer a range of ice cream treats, like concretes, malts and splits, among other frozen desserts, like soda floats. The Andy’s Owasso location is under construction on 96th street, just coming off of Garnett. Set to open in October of this year, Andy’s is a spot to consider when craving a cold treat.

Dutch Bros Coffee

This popular coffee chain will open on the border of Collinsville and Owasso at 116th street. They are currently operating in 11 states as of 2022. Interestingly enough, Dutch Bros started out as a simple espresso pushcart started by two brothers in Grants Pass, Oregon. Dutch Brothers may serve coffee, but they also serve the community through request donations, grantsand various give-back days. They offer lower prices than most current-day coffee shops and are known for their cheerful staff. Although they are not currently accepting applications at the Collinsville location due to being early on in the construction process, they will hopefully be on the lookout for staff in the months to come.
