Being Healthy while in Quarantine
By: Cheyenne Brown
Quarantine and the social distancing that comes with it can be very destructive to a person's mental health, but a good way to make sure friends and family are staying healthy is by simply calling them.
Texting works too, but it’s better for the person to hear a voice rather than seeing a text. This is a historical mark in our lives that affects everyone around the world and it is very hard to go through. If you are having a hard time the best thing to do is talk to someone and tell them what’s going on.
Other ways to stay physically and mentally healthy are going on walks or runs, getting plenty of exercise and maintaining activities to keep you busy. Spend time with your pets, or get some cleaning and organizing done— start new projects.
Getting enough time outside is vital for getting fresh air. Try making a schedule to get school or work done, get sufficient sleep, and take breaks as well. It’s nice to have all this time to relax, but relaxing for too long can make a big impact on your body and your health.
This is a very difficult time for everyone, and it is very important to maintain the best health possible during this pandemic.
Remember, it will get better, shops will start to open back up— so will restaurants and movie theaters. People will be able to return to jobs and schooling, and be able to hang out with friends and family. It’s all just a matter of time, waiting, and patience. Stay inside and be healthy!
