By Aidan Rodriguez

Our homey town of Owasso contains some small yet interesting shops. They are easy to look over, but once you hear about them, you are sure to want to visit. Ranging from a comic book store to a pottery palace, these shops have a lot to offer.

Fire ‘N The Hole is a hot sauce shop in Owasso. It is the only hot sauce shop in northeastern Oklahoma and one of only two hot sauce shops in Oklahoma. They offer a variety of spice levels for different enthusiasts. This includes a special cabinet where the extreme heat is featured holding “Lil’ Nitro,” an atomically-hot gummy bear as well as “Pure Capsicum” and “Pure Evil.” Fire in the Hole also offers a variety of barbeque sauces, salsas and stuffed olives, so even if you aren’t ready for the heat, this shop is a good place to visit.

Vintage Stock is a more well-known store, but it is still a good place to visit. Sitting in our small shopping center, Vintage Stock sells everything from pops to movies to vinyl music. They have several sales throughout the year, so it’s affordable for everyone—even high school students. While there, you can find a wide arrangement of music and films in the store. For instance, music lovers can listen to anything from Amy Winehouse to Lana Del Rey to Billie Eilish, while film buffs have access to everything from classic to modern films. This store has something for everyone and anything you could be looking for.

Copper Kiln is a small, locally-owned business that’s been around in Owasso for nine years. The store even has close connections to the high school as the totems outside were made by high school students. In this store, you can buy small ceramics ranging from small one-dollar ceramics like a mustache to larger ceramics like a dragon. There are new ceramics to paint every week, so you’ll never get bored. Then, you can paint the ceramics in the store or in the comfort of your own home. This is a fun activity for all ages and could even make a fun date night.
